PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adequately discharge ink from a capping means and to suppress occurrence of bubbles due to surface tension of ink. SOLUTION: A pair of inclined faces 27a, 27b which are inclined from an opening section to a bottom section are formed on the capping means 9. A valley line 28 formed by crossing of the pair of inclined faces 27a, 27b is contacted to an ink discharge hole 24. A capillary effect is applied to the remaining ink along the valley line 28 so that the remaining ink is effectively introduced toward the discharge hole 24. A holder member 21 forming an inner bottom face of the capping means 9 and a seal member 22 sealing a recording head are formed of different materials. As the interface conditions thereof are different with each other, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of bubbles due to the surface tension of the ink and to reduce the chance of malfunction in the printing due to the occurrence of bubbles. |
