PURPOSE: Provided is a system for purifying sewage and method thereof, which are characterized in that pre-filtered sewage is supplied to a tank with aeration for fixed time for removing organics. In the tank, sewage is settled after aeration time for separating into sludge and supernatant water. Supernatant water is introduced into a tank equipping electrolytic cells therein. Therefore, H+, OH-, ozone, chlorine dioxide, and hypochlorous acid are generated by the electrolytic cells charged with electricity. Thereby, sewage flowed through the tank is sterilized by ozone, chlorine dioxide, and hypochlorous acid. Also, ammonia is oxidized, and odor is removed by above oxidizers. Sewage discharged from the tank is introduced into a filtering tank that is packed with much filtering gauze for removing micro materials. Filtered sewage is introduced into a tank, and ionized by electric energy for preventing scale deposition. CONSTITUTION: The system includes: a tank(10) for removing organics and separating into sludge and supernatant water; the tank(30) equipping electrolytic cells therein, for sterilizing and deodorizing sewage by ozone, chlorine dioxide, and hypochlorous acid generated by electrolytic cells; the tank(30) that is packed with much filtering gauze for filtration; and the tank(50) for preventing scale deposition by ionization of sewage. Additionally, a coagulant is injected into the tank(30) for coagulation of fine solids.
