PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device in which a user can properly select a gradation converting system from an error diffusing system and a dither system in accordance with the signal format of an input picture signal and which is capable of performing optimum pseudo intermediate gradation display matched to the characteristic of the input video signal. SOLUTION: In this display device, the pseudo intermediate gradation generated by an error diffusing circuit 51 or a dither pattern circuit 52 is outputted to a driving circuit 60 by changing over the output of the circuit 51 as the input of a switch 53 when an input picture signal is an analog input video signal 10 and by changing over the output of the circuit 52 as the input of the switch 53 when the input picture signal is a digital input video signal 11. |
