PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apoptosis-inducing pharmaceutical composition useful for the treatment of diseases in which the induction of apoptosis is effective for the treatment, a pharmaceutical composition for gene therapy to induce apoptosis and kill the cancer cell and a screening method for an apoptosis- inducing agent for cell capable of easily screening an apoptosis-inducing agent. SOLUTION: The apoptosis-inducing pharmaceutical composition for cell contains prostacyclin synthetase gene as an active component, the pharmaceutical composition for the gene therapy of cell contains the apoptosis-inducing pharmaceutical composition as an active component and the screening method for the apoptosis-inducing agent for cell is characterized by the determination of the activation of a peroxisome proliferation factor activation receptor(PPAR)-δin the presence of a test article.
