PURPOSE:To allow the end face of a coupled body of an optical fiber and an optical connector to be polished rapidly with good accuracy. CONSTITUTION:The polishing method for polishing the end face of the coupled body 20 of the optical fiber and the optical connector by the fixed abrasive grains is constituted to have a stage for polishing the end face of the coupled body 20 mentioned above by means of a liquid bonded grinding wheel 29 formed by mixing and solidifying the power of cerium oxide, aluminum oxide, chromium oxide or siliconoxide and liquid bond. The device used for this polishing method is constituted to have a truing device 62 for correcting the polishing face of the liquid bonded grinding wheel 29. |
