PURPOSE: Provided is a steel cord for a reinforcement of rubber such as a car tire and an industrial belt, which is excellent in rubber penetration, fatigue-resistance, and a rubber adhesion. CONSTITUTION: The steel cord for the rubber reinforcement comprises circular section steel wires and at least one flat screwed steel wire(10b). The flat screwed steel wire(10b) is flatted by cold rolling a copper plated circular steel wire and is screwed longitudinally by torsion stress, wherein the flat ratio of the flat screwed steel wire(10b) is 1.05-2.5, and the length of a major axis is 0.2-1.0mm, and the spiral pitch(P) is 2-100 times as long as the major axis.
