PURPOSE: A roof rack for vehicle makes external appearance thereof beautiful by minimizing the intruding area of a roof rack when not loaded with freight. CONSTITUTION: A supporter(10) disposed on first guide grooves(11)(11') formed on the upper portion of a roof panel(2) is forwardly and backwardly movable in a car and has a second guide groove(12) formed on the rear surface thereof. First links(13)(13') support the second guide groove(12) by one end thereof to make the supporter(10) slide and fix supporting axes(14)(14') to the other end thereof to be mounted on the roof panel(2). Second links(15)(15') are connected with the other end of the first links(13)(13') on one end by a supporting pin(16) and with an actuator(17) on other end by the supporting pin(16). Therefore, the supporter(10) is used by being moved forward in the car when freight is loaded and is closely in contact with a plate-form link(21) when freight is not loaded. Thus, external appearance becomes beautiful by minimizing the intruding area of a roof rack when not loaded with freight.
