PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for accessing a control bus in a communication system is provided for a control bus controller to perform a collection of data with respect to specific addresses when a control bus is accessed in a communication system. CONSTITUTION: A CPU input/output unit(301) is a logic having a register capable of setting an automatical update and an automatical update period and performs a matching between a CPU and a control bus controller. A bus arbitration unit(302) decides a priority order between a data collection unit(305), cache RAM(304) and a conversion unit(303). The conversion unit(303) converts a signal outputted from the bus arbitration unit(302) into a signal corresponded to a specification of a control bus and outputs the signal to the control bus. The data collection unit(305) performs a pre-processing of the set period and an address in the CPU. The cache RAM(304) stores contents of the previously performed address.
