<p>The present invention provides a securing device comprising a toothed strap (14) having a first and second end (42, 44), and a separate non-integral body (12) for holding the strap in a closed loop. The body comprises (i) a second pair of jaws (26) having teeth for engaging the teeth of the second end of the strap and (ii) a first pair of jaws (22) having barbed teeth for engaging the teeth of the first end of the strap to hold the strap in a closed loop. The body further includes a gear (92) that can be turned to advance the first end of the strap (14) towards and past the teeth of the first pair of jaws (22) for tightening the strap around the object to be clamped.</p> |
