PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear derailleur capable of sufficiently changing the guiding direction of a control cable used for operating a derailleur without having a bad effect on the tension of the control cable in the relative rocking of the derailleur to a bicycle frame. SOLUTION: This assembly comprises a base member, an intermediate member connected to the base member so as to be relatively rockable about a rocking area enclosing a rocking axial line to the base member, a movable member supporting a chain guide and connected so as to be relatively movable to the intermediate member, and a cable guide having a cable guide surface crossing the rocking area when seen along the direction of the rocking axial line.
