PURPOSE: A remote control apparatus for power switch is provided to achieve an improved function of switch and maximize user convenience by allowing functions such as reservation of sleep/wake up time and display of the current time, to be remotely controlled. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises the first load(10) which is turned on/off by the applied AC power; the first remote controller(28) for outputting a radio signal for controlling the first load; a remote controller signal receiving unit(26) for receiving signals from the first remote controller and converting the received signal into an electrical signal; a function selection unit(24) for inputting functions such as sleep/wake up time reservation and current time adjustment; a control unit(20) for judging functions in accordance with signals input from the function selection unit or the first remote controller and outputting a control signal for turning on/off the first load; an LCD(22) for displaying operation state; a first power supply unit(12) for supplying power to the control unit when the first load is turned on; the second power supply unit(16) for supply power to the control unit when the first load is turned off; the first load control unit(14) for turning on/off the first load; a zero crossing detection unit(18) for protecting the first load control unit; a reset switch(27) for initializing function upon occurrence of abnormal operation; a backup battery(23) for the control unit; an alarm unit(25) for generating sound; and a temperature sensor(45) for sensing the temperature of the indoor area.
