PURPOSE: A data output device for a semiconductor memory device is provided to properly maintain a data symmetry by smoothing a data abrupt slope variance at a logic high voltage, and increases data window width. CONSTITUTION: A potential sensor(10) senses a potential level of a power voltage. A sensing signal transmitter(20) receives an output signal of the potential sensor(10), and generates a high level signal over a potential of the power voltage and a low level signal. A data slope controller(30) is connected to a resistor having a different resistance according to a potential level of the sensing signal transmitter(20), and controls a slope of an output data of an output terminal. The potential sensor(10) includes two resistors(R1,R2) connected in series between a power voltage input terminal and a ground, and an inverter(I1) connected to a connection node of the resistors.
