PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resolver rotating position detecting device capable of detecting and identifying a plurality of abnormalities. SOLUTION: A CPU 9 provided in the computer 8 of this resolver rotating position detecting device 1 receives from an RD converter 21 the input of position detection data matching each resolver 3, 4, 5. The CPU 9 reads from a flash memory 10 a measured voltage matching the position detection data. The CPU 9 receives through an AD converter 15 the input of a feedback signal value matching each resolver 3, 4, 5, and obtains a voltage value of the feedback signal. When determining that the difference between the voltage value of the feedbacks signal and the measured voltage is out of a permissible range, the CPU 9 determines that an abnormality has occurred, and identifies the kind of abnormality from the voltage value of the feedback signal. In the event of an abnormality, the CPU 9 actuates an alarm 18 and a display device 17 to let an operator know the kind of abnormality.
