PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present an output result free from a failure to an operator before printing by displaying and controlling preview considering device information to preview the function and printing setting of a device. SOLUTION: A previewer 306 reads intermediate data of a page plotting file from a spool file 303 based on information from a spool file manager 304 and executes layout processing based on printing setting information in a job setting file. Then, a graphic engine(GE) 202 converts intermediate data for one obtained physical page into an interpretable GDI function and the GE 202 discharges the DDI function from a display drive with a display means as an output destination. Further, the previewer 306 simultaneously executes plotting processing based on device information, judges the presence/absence of the overlap of coordinates from coordinate information of plotting data and device information and when overlapping exists, a warning dialog is displayed as the failure of setting.
