NEW TETRAPEPTIDE AND ANGIOTENSIN CONVERTING ENZYME INHIBITOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain tetrapeptides obtained from a Wakame seaweed liquid product decomposed by a proteolytic enzyme and having an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibiting action. SOLUTION: Four kinds of tetrapeptides each having angiotensin converting enzyme inhibiting action and mentioned below are obtained by treating Wakame seaweeds with a proteolytic enzyme, or the like, and have hypotensive effect in organism and only a very weak toxicity: (1)Tyr-Asn-Lys-Leu; (2) Tyr-Lys-Tyr- Tyr; (3) Lys-Phe-Tyr-Gly; and (4) Ala-Ile-tyr-Lys.
