PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for cosmetics excellent in safety and improved in detergency while maintaining enzyme stability. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including at least a proteolytic enzyme and surfactant(s) in an aqueous solution containing a polyhydric alcohol, wherein the polyhydric alcohol accounts for at, least 20 wt.% of the whole weight and the surfactant(s) is at least one selected from 6-20C alkylglycosides and sugar-alcohol alkyl ethers. It is preferable that the sugar-alcohol alkyl ether has an 8-20C alkyl group and the sugar-alcohol is at least one selected from maltitol, sorbitol, mannitol, xylitol, erythritol, and lactitol, and the surfactant includes <=70 wt.% of a polyoxyethylene sterol based on the whole weight of the surfactant.
