The transport device has a lifting device (1) with centre opening with grippers (2,3) which alternately engage with a grip rod (4) and a grip release device. The grippers are mounted on an upper and lower end of the lifting mechanism and have a ring-shaped stopper block with inner incline and stoppers (23). The release device is synchronized with the movement of a piston (12) of the lifting mechanism . A grip rod has repeatedly enlarged sections, tapering sections and jaws for engagement arranged underneath the enlarged section. the stoppers of the grippers are always under pressure by coil springs to close the grippers.
