<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color conversion method for a display device that accurately reproduces colors over the entire color reproduction area including the luminance direction of a multi-primary color display device by means of the color reproduction technology. SOLUTION: A color reproduction system has a color converter to display a color image on a multi-primary color display device, the color converter consists of a maximum luminance signal calculating device that calculates the signal of color reproduction area apexes being the apexes of a plane configuring the surface of a color reproduction area of the display device surrounding input 3-stimulus vectors and a weight coefficient used when the input 3-stimulus values are expressed as the linear sum of the three stimulus values of the color reproduction area apex vectors and of a color image signal calculation device that calculates the color image signal to display the input three stimulus values on the basis of the signal of the color reproduction area apexes and the weight coefficient. The system has a photometrically accurate color reproduction and continuity between XYZ and the signal values so as to maximize the color reproduction area.</p> |
