The air conditioning system is mounted in the floor of a caravan or similar vehicle. It is divided into two compartments (2, 3) by an air-tight wall. In one compartment (2) are the compressor (17) and condenser (18). The evaporator (26) and a centrifugal fan (33) are in the second compartment. The compartmentalized construction minimizes the volume taken up by the system.
