<p>An unknown gene showing a significant homology with a known organic cation transporter is found out by screening a mouse embryo-origin cDNA library. This gene (mouse OCTN3) is successfully isolated by screening a mouse testis-origin cDNA library. Mouse OCTN3 is expressed specifically in the testes. As the results of an ex amination on the transporter activity of a protein encoded by the gene thus isolated, it is found out that this protein actually serves as an organic cation transporter.</p> |
