PHASED ARRAY ANTENNA AND MANUFACTURE OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a relatively compact and inexpensive phased array antenna even in the case of increasing the number of radiating elements for improving the gain. SOLUTION: This phased array antenna 1 has a multi-layer structure in which plural radiating elements 15, phase shifters 17 for changing the phase of a high frequency signal transmitted and received by each radiating element, and a distributing and synthesizing part 14 are formed in different layers. Each phase shifting circuit constituting each phase shifter 17 is individually driven by driving units 12. Moreover, switches to be used for the phase shifters 17 are formed in a batch with the other wiring patterns in the layers in which the phase shifters 17 are formed.
