The airbag's gas outlet opening is located in the region of a fabric connection between a fabric upper layer and fabric underlayer. The fabric connection in the section(12) provided for the forming of the gas outlet is subjected when loaded to a tensioning concentration at a defined internal pressure which leads to automatic tearing of the fabric connection. For adjustment of the increased tensioning concentration the length of the fabric connection over the section provided for forming the gas outlet is designed with a larger radius than the permanently fixed sections.
