PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hardly affect color operating processing even when there is a dispersion in a beam splitting sensitivity for each color component of a color filter by generating third primary color data from the square roots of products of first to third complementary color data. SOLUTION: A first multiplication circuit 23a generates a first product P[r] by multiplying complementary color data C[Ye] and C[Mg] provided from respective latch circuits 22a and 22b. A second multiplication circuit 23b generates a second product P[g] by multiplying complementary color data C[Ye] and C[Cy] provided from respective latch circuits 22a and 22c. A third multiplication circuit 23c generates a third product P[b] by multiplying the complanentary color data C[Mg] and C[Cy] provided from the respective latch circuits 22b and 22c. Then, first to third opening/closing circuits 24a to 24c calculate the square roots of first to third products P[r], P[g] and P[b] inputted from the respective multiplication circuits 23a-23c and output first to third roots P[R], P[G] and P[B].
