PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of detecting means needed for a whole belt conveyer, in a belt offset detecting means for detecting the offset in the width direction of a belt. SOLUTION: Contact pieces 23, provided near to the end part in both the width direction of a belt 5, are provided on the tips of arms 25 respectively, and the respective arms 25 are fixed to a rotatable rotation part 27 with the upper position of the belt as the center. The rotationally reciprocative movement of the rotation part 27 is detected by a rotational angle sensor 31, etc., and the center position of rotation is the intersection point of normals 29 assumed to both the width directional end parts of the belt 5.
