PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an operability in rotating a lid body by arranging a rotating member rotatably supported to a main body easing with one end being fulcrum and a set part for setting a recording medium to an arrangement recess part open to one side, opening and closing a recording and/or reproducing part, and also arranging the lid body for supporting the rotating member via at least one elastic body. SOLUTION: The recording and/or reproducing apparatus has a detecting mechanism which detects a load to a driving motor of a driving mechanism when a finger is caught and rotates an on/off unit 16 in an open direction. When the finger is caught at the side of a rear end of a lid body 18, a distance from a rotational fulcrum is short and a moment is small, and therefore a predetermined current cannot be detected and the on/off unit 16 is not opened in some cases. Compression coil springs 27 and 27 are arranged at a position closer to a rotational base end of a rotating member 17, thereby surely spacing the lid body 18 from the rotating member 17. A load to the finger 33 is thus reduced to avoid an injury.
