HYDROCARBON CLEANING SOLVENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a hydrocarbon cleaning solvent which is not flammable, does not fall under a category of hazardous materials, and is excellent in dryability. SOLUTION: Isopropyl bromide(IPB) and/or n-propyl bromide(NPB) is added to at least one hydrocarbon solvent selected from among those belonging to the first- and the second-class petroleum to make the solvent nonflammable. An org. solvent having a b.p. of 60-130 deg.C is also mixed into the solvent. Since this org. solvent having a b.p. of 60-130 deg.C evaporates at a low temp. before the hydrocarbon solvent evaporates, the dryability can be improved. The addition of an org. solvent having a b.p. higher than 60 deg.C gives a cleaning solvent which does not evaporate at a low temp. before IPB or NPB evaporates, and thus a flammable atmosphere does not appear in the course of drying the cleaning solvent.
