PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide techniques capable of performing highly reliable data communication between a host computer and a printer even while still using a conventional communication protocol by not successively performing the data processing of the printer corresponding to received data but performing the processing after confirming whether data for a certain fixed amount are true or not. SOLUTION: A printer control part 30 is provided with a data buffer 34 for holding one part of received printing instructions and a data analytic part 33 capable of judging the regularity of data held there. As a result of regularity judgement due to the analytic part 33, when it is judged that the data held in the data buffer 34 are not regular print data, a control code interpreting part 36 reads these data, abandons them and does not perform printing.
