PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp characteristics simulation device capable of performing an easy analysis with high precision. SOLUTION: A current detector 4 detects a current flowing in a variable resistance element 5. A rectifier circuit 6 rectifies the current detected by the current detector 4. A delay circuit 7 greatly delays a low frequency region, and allows a high frequency region to be transmitted almost as it is. A function circuit 8 processes the current so as to control the variable resistance element 5. Resistance has a positive characteristic in the high frequency region, and a negative characteristic in the low frequency region.
