PURPOSE: An LCD manufacturing method is provided to improve the opening rate without enlarging the contact resistance of a pixel electrode with a drain electrode and to prevent the short-circuit. CONSTITUTION: The LCD manufacturing method is formed by the steps of: forming a first metal film as a gate electrode(70a) pattern branched from a gate bus line by using a first exposing mask; successively forming a gate insulting film(55), a first semiconductor layer(80a), a second semiconductor layer(80b) and a second metal film; forming the second metal film as a projecting unit pattern branched from a data bus line by using a second exposing mask; and forming the first semiconductor layer(80a), the second semiconductor layer(80b) and the gate insulating protecting film(55).
