<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously straighten skew and side registration regardless of the quality of paper. SOLUTION: Carrier rollers 1a, 1b are provided in different positions in a conveying direction. These carrier rollers 1a, 1b can be moved in a direction intersecting the conveying direction by the driving of moving drive motors 11a, 11b, and the moving directions of the carrier rollers 1a, 1b are controlled by control circuits 15a, 15b on the basis of the detection output of paper detecting sensor 13a, 13b for detecting the side edge of paper during conveyance so as to straighten skew and side registration at the same time. At the time of adjusting paper, the carrier rollers 1a, 1b are moved at high speed, and after the paper detecting sensors 13a, 13b detect the side edge of the paper 2 in this high-speed movement, the carrier rollers 1a, 1b are moved at low speed to heighten paper adjusting accuracy.</p> |
