FIELD: fish-processing industry, in particular, devices used in fish-dressing machine. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has conveying device 1, centering device and fish position sensor. Centering device has pair of V-shaped spring-loaded dielectric plates 2 and 3. Liners of capacitors 6 and 7 are fixed on outer surface of plates 2 and 3. Fish position sensor has pair of capacity measuring devices 6 and 7 made in the form of high-frequency self-excited oscillators, and frequency comparator 10 generating signal indicative of fish abdomen position. EFFECT: wider range of kinds of fish that may be processed in fish-processing machine, provision for obtaining precise and reliable data and reduced injure to fish. 2 cl, 1 dwg
