Self-aligning fastener e.g. for securing fluorescent screen to lighting fixture

A self-aligning fastener (1) for securing e.g. a fluorescent screen to a lighting fitting has a threaded (4) stem (2) and a domed head (3). They are connected together by a ball joint (5,6) and the pair are conveniently manufactured by plastics injection molding. The fluorescent screen is pierced to receive the stem and tightened in the fixture by gripping the molded projections (11) with alignment facilitated via the groove (9) and swivel action (5,6).
