PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital still camera with which discrimination of a format of a storage medium is facilitated by allowing the camera to have a mode, where a file in a directory of the storage medium generated by a digital still camera or a personal computer or the like of other manufacturing company is reproduced. SOLUTION: A CPU 13 retrieves whether or not a memory card 9 has a directory generated by an external device (other manufacturing company device such as a digital still camera or a personal computer or the like which is manufactured by other company) at the application of power to the digital still camera. When the directory generated by the external device exists in the memory card 9, it is displayed on an LCD 10 to inform it to an operator. Moreover, the CPU 13 has a mode that reproduces a file in the directory generated by the external device 9 in the memory card as reproduction mode. |
