AN EPICARDIAL ELECTRODE ARRAY

An array (40) of electrodes (42) for sensing electrical signals associated with a body of tissue or a portion thereof, particularly suited for use with a heart (10). The array (40) includes a plurality of electrodes (42), and adjacent sets of which are interconnected by one or more cords (44). The array (40) is of such a shape and resiliency that, in use, it encircles and snugly envelopes the body of tissue. Access to the heart tissues (10) via the spaces in the array of electrodes (40) enables detailed mapping/ablating with probes (80') whilst the array envelopes the body of tissue.
