PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to reduce a load on a care-taker, by equipping a switch to drive a motor onto a handle for a care-taker to take care of a user in an electric wheelchair to perform power assist by driving a wheel via a clutch by a motor corresponding to manual operation torque to a hand rim. SOLUTION: A switch 31 is equipped on a handle 32 for a care-taker to drive a motor 21. The handle 32 rotates corresponding to a load applied and, when a load reached a prescribed one, a first load detecting means detects the load at first, and, when an increased load reached the other prescribed load, a second load detecting means detects the load. When the first detecting means detected the small load and the second detecting means the large load, driving of the motor 21 starts and the driving is kept until the first load detecting means does not detect the small load. Thereby a load on a care-taker during operating a wheelchair can be reduced. |
