PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize reduction of rolling oil returned for reuse to a rolling oil supply tank in a rolling line and minimize the amount of fresh rolling oil replenished to reduce the running cost, by lessening rolling oil discharged to the outside together with iron contents as much as possible, when removing iron contents mixed in the rolling oil used for rolling therefrom. SOLUTION: This device for removing iron contents in rolling oil is provided with a tank 1 containing rolling oil used in the rolling process, a rotary body 2 whose axis is horizontal, arranged at the upper part of the tank 1 so as to be submerged in the rolling oil in the tank at the lower half part thereof and provided with a magnetic force at least at a part thereof, and a scrapper 3 arranged above the rolling oil level to scrape down iron contents contained in the rolling oil and attracted on the rotary body 2 by the magnetic force of the rotary body. A gas is jetted to the rolling oil stuck on the rotary body together with iron contents at the upper part than the rolling oil level and on the upstream side of the scrapper 3 in the rotary direction of the rotary body 2, to allow the rolling oil to flow in such a direction that the rolling oil separates from the scrapper 3 through a gas nozzle 6 provided with the device. |
