<p>A high performance classifier system for use in a pulverizer mill (e.g., a mill used to crush large coal particles into small particles) includes tilted vanes (2) between the mill housing and the upper end of the classifier. Other preferred features include a cylindrical extension member (5) with a roughened interior surface, a converging/diverging orifice provided by an intermediate classification liner (3) on the interior surface of the mill housing, curved classifier vanes (4) at the upper end of the classifier, and an outlet turret extension 1 secured to the existing mill.
