The material to be dosed drops under gravity into the inlet (13) of a cylindrical housing in which a vane wheel rotates. The vanes of the wheel are in the form of raial scoops (12). After rotation over 180 degrees the material leaves the cylindrical housing through an outlet (17) and is transported further by compessed air. The vaned wheel lets the material through in controlled amounts. The compressed air enters the housing at an acute angle (alpha) so that it has an axial speed vector and a radially inward facing vector. The outlet for the air/material mixture is located in an endwall (3) of the cylindrical housing.
