WOVEN OR KNITTED FABRIC AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a woven or knitted fabric excellent in frosting resistance without deteriorating the original lightweight property and swollen touch of the woven or knitted fabric using hollow fibers. SOLUTION: Hollow fibers having a hollow rate of 20-50% are used for weaving or knitting yarns. The hollow fibers are placed in at least the surface part of the woven or knitted fabric, and at least one part of the hollow fibers are pressed to give a hollow rate of <=20%. The hollow fibers having the pressed cross sections are contained in an amount of <=50% based on the whole amount of the hollow fibers constituting the woven or knitted fabric. The woven or knitted fabric woven or knitted with the hollow fibers having a hollow rate of 20-50% is subjected to at least one of surface-processing treatments consisting of an edge-processing treatment and a press-processing treatment to reduce the hollow rate of a part of the hollow fibers to <=20%.
