PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the precision of a focus of an image with a high level and to obtain an image even from a original of a different format without high precision of processing and adjustment of a support mechanism such as a film carrier in the image reader. SOLUTION: A film carrier 15 is provided removably to a carrier base 12 of a main body section 10, a light L illuminates from a light source unit 30 to a film piece 20 supported by the film carrier 15 and an image forming optical system 51 and a CCD 52 read a transparent image, then an AF motor 50 is operated based on an output of the CCD 52 every time the film carrier 15 is replaced. Thus, even when working precision differs among plural film carriers, deviation in focus due to the difference from the working precision is prevented. |
