The sleeve is made from a strip of sheet plastic with its two ends folded over and joined by welding together the two outer surfaces face to face. The sleeve is printed on the inside or has an inner layer (9) of plastic carrying the printed matter, attached to the inner surface of a transparent outer sleeve (6). The sleeve is made from a very thin plastic material, eg. between 0.04 and 0.08 mm thick, so that the doubling of its thickness created by the weld is not apparent.
