Prodn. of fluoroanilines (I) comprises reacting a (chloro- or bromo)fluoronitrobenzene (II) with hydrogen in the presence of a palladium catalyst and a water-insoluble amine which forms a water-insoluble hydrohalide and opt. in an inert solvent. Ar = phenyl, naphthyl or pyridyl opt. substd. by halo, 1-4C alkyl, phenyl, NR2, OR, CN, CHO or COR; R = H or 1-6C alkyl; X = Cl or Br; m, n = 1-4.
