The fixing device is formed from a section (1) having in its length a longitudinal opening whose webs delimit a groove (4). The flexible material (2) is introduced into the front of the opening and a moulding (3) is introduced into the front of the groove for wedging the material. The material is tensioned, thereby lifting the moulding which is then supported on the edges of the groove causing wedging of the material. Pulling on the overhanging material frees the wedging by ejecting the moulding from the groove and releases the material. The wedge is in the shape of a corner iron whose webs form a right angle an one face in contact with the material has an adhesive layer enabling successive mounting and dismounting of the material in the same position. The web parallel to the plane of the tightened material has a width equal to or greater than the inlet width of the groove.
