<p>PURPOSE:To substantially simplify a product work line by positioning a workpiece in a pallet, conveying it in each work station position by steps and automatically positioning the workpiece by the positioning the pallet. CONSTITUTION:A car body W as a workpiece, suspended by a hanger 11, is conveyed by an overhead conveyer 1 and transferred on a table lifter 2, and an attitude of the car body is measured by a car body position measuring device 3. On the other hand, a truck 5, serving as a pallet returned to this position, is positioned by a positioning device 4 so as to agree with the measured attitude of the car body W and the car body is set to a predetermined position. The car body W is conveyed by steps to each assembly device 93 to 100 along a conveying line and transferred, after assembly, on a slat conveyer 8 by an unloading device 7, and the truck 5 is returned to its initial position. Thus, eliminating the necessity for providing a locator for setting the workpiece to the predetermined position in each work position, a line can be substantially simplified.</p> |
