PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device capable of transferring a toner image satisfactorily even when the electrostatic capacity, electric resistance or width of a recording medium changes, in an image forming device which applies a transfer voltage to a transfer roller and transfers the toner image from a toner image carrier to the recording medium by means of Coulomb force. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with: a transfer power source 22 which applies a transfer voltage to the transfer roller 21 in order to transfer a toner image from the toner image carrier 7 to the recording medium 100; a medium electrostatic capacity detecting means 15 and 24 for detecting the electrostatic capacity of the recording medium 100; and a transfer voltage control means 25 which responds to detection signals from the medium electrostatic capacity detecting means 15 and 24, and controls a transfer voltage which is applied from the transfer power source 22 to the transfer roller 21. |
