A tyre with raised blocks (4) arranged circumferentially and separated by longitudinal and lateral grooves (3) suffers greater wear on the trailing edges of the blocks (4) than on the leading edges. More uniform wear occurs if all blocks (4) in at least one longitudinal row (A) have longer trailing (7b) than leading (7a) edges. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. on radial tyres. Prevents a saw tooth effect on each successive circumferential block and ensures uniform abrasion.
