PURPOSE:To provide a method for molding a pad for an air bag device capable of reducing the number of set pins for retaining a flexible reinforcing insert. CONSTITUTION:The subject method for molding a pad for an air bag device is to mold the pad for the air bag device by injecting and curing a molding material into the product cavity 33 of a molding die 31 through a gate. The pad is molded consisting of a lid part and a bracket part formed in a protruding manner, with the presence of a hinge part near the base end of the lid, all molded in one piece. In addition, a flexible reinforcing inserts is embedded from the bracket part upto the rear side of the lid part through the hinge part. Further, the flexible reinforcing insert is retained by a set pin 39 formed protruding from the die to a bracket-formed part 45, and at the same time, the gate 47 is positioned at the base end of a lid-formed part 43, and a molding material is injected from the gate 47. |
