The fabric sheet sections are enclosed on all sides with flexible edgings (3) of leather or plastics. Stiffeners (4) such as metal or plastics rods or tubes are incorporated in the fabric sheets. The stiffeners are joined to the roll bar (7) by hooks (6), and to the vehicle bodywork by inclined flexible bands (8) ending in hooks or other fasteners. The flexible fasteners are so wide that the upper part of the back rest is covered and the stiffeners lie behind the back rest.
