<p>PURPOSE:To enable to effectively utilize diatomaceous earth as a highly strong building material, the diatomaceous earth having been effectively not treated as any useful material except as a simple building waste material. CONSTITUTION:A diatomaceous earth slurry 6 is mixed with an active sludge combustion ash slurry 7 and a cement solidifying agent 8 and subsequently stirred in a homogeneously dispersed state in a mixing and stirring tank 9. Pressure is applied to the produced slurry with an elastic film 14 having the cross-sectional area of a high pressure-pressing device 10 in the high pressure-pressing device 10 to press the active sludge combustion ash into the respective fine pores of the skin shells of the diatomaceous earth 1 by submicron units, thus reducing the porosity of the diatomaceous earth, enlarging the strength of the diatomaceous earth and effectively utilizing the treated diatomaceous earth slurry as a building material having the large strength as well as the original high rigidity. Thus, the active sludge combustion ash having a smaller size by submicron units than the sizes of the fine pores of the shells of the diatomaceous earth cells is pressed and filled into the many fine pores of the shells of the diatomaceous earth cells, whereby the strength of the diatomaceous earth is increased and the treated diatomaceous earth is effectively utilized as a building material having the original high rigidity as well as the increased strength.</p> |
