PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for processing of data compression and data expansion in a computer system in the transmission of compressed data between the computer systems. CONSTITUTION:Transmission data from a computer system are given to a 1st data separation section 1, in which the data are separated into communication control data and communication data. The communication data are compressed by a data compression section 2, a 1st data synthesis section 3 synthesizes the communication control data and compressed communication data and sends the synthesized data. The transmission data from a line are given to a 2nd data separation section 4, in which the data are separated into communication control data and compressed communication data and the transmission data after expansion are obtained from a 2nd synthesis section 6 with a reverse operation to that for the transmission and the resulting data are outputted to the computer system.
